Short Form Video Script Template: A 60-Second Plan
A one-minute script needs one clear question and an answer that fits the available speaking time. The following timeline is an illustrative editing plan; move its boundaries when your narration or demonstration needs more space.
| Segment | Illustrative time | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Opening | 0–5 seconds | State the question or show the result |
| Explanation | 5–40 seconds | Give the necessary evidence or steps |
| Payoff | 40–55 seconds | Deliver the promised answer |
| Ending | 55–60 seconds | Close clearly or invite a relevant next step |
Draft the complete narration, then read it aloud with a timer. Cut repeated ideas before accelerating the voice. Prepare scene notes separately so stage directions do not become spoken text.
Sixty seconds is a format choice here, not the universal Shorts limit. Check YouTube's current duration rules when choosing the final upload format. A good template helps organize a story; it cannot promise retention, virality or revenue.
Put the script into production
Use the Shorts word counter as an estimate, then time your actual narration. Forgen is a Windows product in testing: provide your complete story and review the narration, scenes and editable CapCut draft. Connected providers may require internet access and usage credits. Join the waiting list if that workflow fits your needs.
